Hellenic Collective Coordinator

  • Location: Hybrid (Adelaide-based)
  • Employment Type: Part-time, one day per week (note: additional hours may be required leading up to an event)

The Hellenic Collective is the vibrant, youth-focused sub-branch of the Hellenic Studies Foundation. Our mission is to engage the next generation in celebrating and preserving Greek culture and heritage in Australia. Through innovative events, initiatives, and networking opportunities, we foster connection and cultural pride, ensuring the continuation of Hellenic traditions for years to come.

 

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Coordinator to lead the execution of the Hellenic Collective’s activities.

You will be responsible for coordinating all internal functions of the Hellenic Collective, including governance processes, stakeholder engagement and strategic initiatives. Acting as a key link between the Hellenic Collective and the Hellenic Studies Foundation, you will ensure alignment with the Foundation’s objectives while driving the successful delivery of youth-focused programs and events.

The role requires an experienced professional who can manage multiple priorities, liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, and operate with a high level of professionalism when engaging with Board members, sponsors, and the broader community.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Operations & Governance: Coordinate sub-committee meetings, manage documentation, and act as the primary liaison between the Collective and the Foundation Board.
  • Events & Program Delivery: Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of events, including budgeting, logistics, vendor management, and post-event reporting.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain professional relationships with sponsors and partners, ensuring all deliverables and expectations are met with excellence.
  • Digital Presence: Manage social media platforms, developing quarterly strategies and engaging content that resonates with our audience and promotes our mission.

 

Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, agendas and formal documentation.
  • Proven ability to coordinate meetings, track actions and follow through on deliverables.
  • Experience planning and delivering events or programs end-to-end.
  • Ability to engage professionally with a range of stakeholders, including senior leadership and external partners.
  • High level of attention to detail and problem-solving capability.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take ownership of outcomes.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with compliance and reporting obligations in a not-for-profit environment.
  • Knowledge of, or interest in, Hellenic culture, language and community.
  • Experience working with youth-focused programs or initiatives.

  • Preferably fluent in Greek and English.
